Branding and Packaging Design
KIT e-bikes set out to develop a line of electric balance bikes for children aged 3–10, with the goal of bringing parents and kids together to enjoy fun, active experiences. The brand needed a look and feel that captured the energy, excitement, and sense of freedom associated with riding—while also appealing to parents seeking the best product for their children.
This case study explores how the KIT ebikes branding and packaging design—from the color palette and whimsical patterns to the playful logo—came to life, successfully embodying the company’s spirit of “soaring freedom” and “classic childhood fun.”
Creative Strategy
Logo & Typography
The design includes a distinctive “kite” icon paired with a stylized lightning bolt for the “e” in “e-bikes,” reinforcing the electric power component.
The brand name is spelled “KIT e-bikes,” using two distinct typographic treatments—one for “KIT” and another for “e-bikes.” The words physically touch, implying the playful merging of “kite” and “kit.”
Color Palette
A bold tri-color system using vibrant blue, punchy pink, and sunny yellow conveys excitement, dynamism, and childlike fun.
The brand also uses navy to ground the visuals and provide contrast.
Patterns
Fun, geometric patterns featuring triangles and abstract shapes are used as backgrounds for logos, packaging panels, and brand collateral.
The patterning echoes the shape of a kite—angular, dynamic, and in motion.
Results and Impact
Immediate Brand Recognition
The playful kite icon and lightning bolt motif have helped KIT ebikes stand out in a crowded market of e-balance bikes.
Consumer Appeal
Parents appreciate the spirited, family-friendly design, while kids love the bright colors and the sense that this is “their own cool toy.”
Competitive Differentiation
The packaging’s focus on performance and fun (top speed, long battery life, etc.)—coupled with bold design—helps quickly communicate KIT ebikes’ advantages over more expensive competitors.
