Illustration Branding and Marketing Materials
Take Me Outside is a Canadian non-profit organization dedicated to connecting students and educators with nature by encouraging outdoor exploration and learning. Their mission is to foster a stronger bond with the environment, promote physical well-being, and cultivate a sense of curiosity and stewardship for the natural world.
In an effort to strengthen their visual identity and engage a wider audience, Take Me Outside sought new illustrations and marketing materials. The goal was to develop a cohesive brand presence across social media, events, merchandise, and conference materials—ultimately inspiring action and support for their cause.
Project Objectives
Visual Consistency: Develop a family of illustrations and graphics that resonate with Take Me Outside’s values and can be adapted to various platforms and formats.
Brand Recognition: Refresh and unify the brand identity through clear, inspiring, and nature-focused visual assets.
Audience Engagement: Increase the organization’s reach and impact, encouraging more people to participate in outdoor activities and events.
Versatile Application: Ensure that all illustrations and marketing materials can be used across digital channels (social media, website) as well as print collateral (merchandise, event banners, signage).
My Role & Responsibilities
Creative Direction: Developed an overarching visual style that captured the essence of nature-based education.
Illustration Design: Created illustrations aligned with Take Me Outside’s mission and brand voice.
Branding & Marketing Materials: Designed and adapted the illustrations for social media campaigns, event promotional items, merchandise, and conference branding.
Collaboration: Worked closely with the Take Me Outside team to gather feedback and ensure brand consistency.
Concept Development
Created a mood board featuring nature-inspired color palettes, organic shapes, and illustrations that evoke a spirit of adventure.
Produced a cohesive set of digital illustrations showcasing diverse outdoor scenes, wildlife, and activities (e.g., hiking, canoeing, tree planting).
Applied a consistent color palette and stylistic elements to maintain brand recognition across all assets.
Integrated the illustrations into key brand templates for social media, event signage, print materials, and merchandise.
